چکیده

Purpose: Y-box–binding protein-1 (YB-1) is known to conduct various functions related to cell proliferation, anti-apoptosis, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and castration resistance in prostate cancer. However, it is still unknown how YB-1 affects cancer biology, especially its correlations with the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway. Therefore, we aimed to examine the interaction between YB-1 and the MAPK pathway in prostate cancer. Experimental Design: Quantitative real-time PCR, Western blotting, and co-immunoprecipitation assay were conducted in prostate cancer cells. YB-1, phosphorylated YB-1 (p-YB-1), and ERK2 protein expressions in 165 clinical specimens of prostate cancer were investigated by immunohistochemistry. YB-1, p-YB-1, and ERK2 nuclear expressions were compared with clinicopathologic characteristics and

Roles of the Raf/MEK/ERK pathway in cell growth, malignant transformation and drug resistance.

Growth factors and mitogens use the Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK signaling cascade to transmit signals from their receptors to regulate gene expression and prevent apoptosis. Some components of these pathways are mutated or aberrantly expressed in human cancer (e.g., Ras, B-Raf). Mutations also occur at genes encoding upstream receptors (e.g., EGFR and Flt-3) and chimeric chromosomal translocations (e.g., B...

The cell surface glycoprotein CUB domain-containing protein 1 (CDCP1) contributes to epidermal growth factor receptor-mediated cell migration.

Epidermal growth factor (EGF) activation of the EGF receptor (EGFR) is an important mediator of cell migration, and aberrant signaling via this system promotes a number of malignancies including ovarian cancer. We have identified the cell surface glycoprotein CDCP1 as a key regulator of EGF/EGFR-induced cell migration. We show that signaling via EGF/EGFR induces migration of ovarian cancer Caov...

P-111: EGFR, ERK, MEK Genes Expression Level in Cumulus Cells of PCOS Women Compared with Healthy Women

Background Poly cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is known as a common endocrine disorder in women at reproductive ages and may cause developmental abnormality in oocyte. ERK has found as a regulator protein of Gap junctions (GJ) function and the level of exchanges between two neighbors cells, for example oocyte and surrounding cumulus cells (CCs) in the mammalian ovary. Such exchange is essential...

RNA interference inhibition of matrix metalloproteinase-1 prevents melanoma metastasis by reducing tumor collagenase activity and angiogenesis.

Melanoma incidence is increasing worldwide, and metastatic melanoma is almost completely resistant to every known therapy. New approaches to treating melanoma are urgently needed, and a greater understanding of the biology of melanoma invasion and metastasis will aid in their creation. A high proportion of invasive melanomas have a constitutively active Raf/mitogen-activated protein kinase/extr...
